Sunscreen

Hello Fam,

How are you all doing! I hope it was a great week. I am not going to lie, for some reason I was thinking a lot about you guys this week. I am not sure if it was because of the football game or Claire’s birthday, or the fall season, or the sunscreen I have been wearing (sunscreen always reminds me of vacations, Newport, Bear Lake, Lake Powell.) But for some reason you guys were really on my mind all week. I hope you are all doing well.

We had a good week we are working really hard. I feel really sad because I think I will be changing areas next week and I really like this area. I have made a lot of good changes here personally and I love the people here so, so, so, much. It is hard to move on. I cannot believe how fast time is moving. It is absolutely crazy. Being a missionary is very hard but I love it. You fight battles all day long and really just hope you are doing something right.

Sometimes you just put your head down and go.

We had a great experience this week. An investigator has been struggling with a lot of indecisiveness but this week we fasted with him to have an answer. Yesterday after the fast we asked him if he would be baptized and he said that he had the intention of doing it, he just wasn’t sure when. Then his wife told him that now that he had his answer, he had to act on it. That the Lord would tell him he needed to do it and that he would leave the details up to him. After that our investigator chose to be baptized on the 8 of November. So we are good to go!

I am doing well. Love you tons!

Knocking When They Need Us

Hey everybody,

I hope you are all doing well! I had a good week.
We didn’t really do anything special, just got down to work like usual.

We are teaching a family of five that is fantastic. They were a reference from a member a while back and I love teaching them. They have three kids an 18 year old boy, a 16 year old girl, and a 13 year old girl. They are really great to teach. They really like spending time together and are all best friends with each other. They kind of remind me of our family.

We had a sweet moment with another investigator who told us about how we came and knocked on his door when he really needed us. He said he had very little faith in God, but now he knows that he has a Savior.

It is such a blessing to me when our investigators have told me that we came in their moment of need. It makes me feel like I was ready when the Lord needed me and that brings peace. Almost all of them have told us that. It is fantastic.

Love you!

Boldly, With Love

We had a fun little trip to these waterfalls this morning. It was a really beautiful spot.

I had one of the most impactful moments in my mission this week as we had a conference. We listened to the talk President Uchtdorf gave to the Mission Presidents. It was incredible and changed my life. I really felt the power of the Atonement as I listened to this talk, like I never have before. I just feel so extremely blessed. I felt so good. He talked about Peter and the change Peter made to become such a great leader. He talked about a missionary who just talked to everyone; boldly, with love. Really, it just clicked for me.

We didn’t have a great week. There are always things you can do better. But I am doing well. Sorry I haven’t written much the last couple weeks, I hope the pictures are good!

No, I didn't fall in. You can walk right up next to the base of the waterfall and it is like a full on rainstorm in there. It was nuts. The wind is blowing like crazy and just pouring water.

General Conference

Hey Fam,

We are doing really great. Every day has new challenges. I had a great morning. We put a coat of paint on the walls of our room and then we headed to play dodge ball with the Zone.

I am happy because we have lots of opportunities to teach and I feel so happy when I teach. It is really true; when you are lost helping others you are most happy. I loved General Conference. I loved President Uchtdorf’s talk about finding light. I also loved Elder Scott’s talk, especially about prayer and sticking to the other basics and making them a priority above everything else. I also liked Tad Callister’s talk. We all need to read more books. I am grateful for Conference because you know what they are saying is true. It is just clear.

The more I learn the more I just want to do things right. Be honest, simple, solid, and true. I listened to a great talk about that from Uncle Jeff this week and I loved it. I think that is what it is all about. Earlier, we were talking about the Book of Mormon with Hno. P.  He had read about the 3 Nephites and was awestruck by their desire to good. How awesome. I think sometimes we might overlook those three a little bit. How cool, they just walk around doing good for people in secret without ever receiving credit. I love that. Anyways, I have got to go. Sorry I didn’t write much, I have been downloading General Conference, but I am well.  Thank you for everything! I love you tons.

Did BYU win?
